Cookies Policy

Last updated: August 14, 2026

This Cookies Policy explains how Geval d.o.o. (“we”, “us”, “our”), the operator of Stars5Shop (stars5shop.com), uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website, and the choices available to you. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. This policy is intended to comply with the EU ePrivacy Directive and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and applicable U.S. state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow a site to recognize your device, remember information about your visit, and make the site work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information and support advertising. Similar technologies covered by this policy include pixels, tags, and local storage.

2. Types of cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the website to function — for example, keeping items in your shopping cart, remembering your session while you browse and check out, maintaining login state for your account, and protecting the site against fraud. These are set by WooCommerce and WordPress and cannot be switched off, as the site cannot function properly without them.

Functional / preference cookies. These remember choices you make (such as language or display preferences) to provide a more personalized experience.

Analytics and performance cookies. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (pages viewed, time on site, traffic sources) so we can improve it. This data is processed in aggregate and used for statistical purposes.

Advertising / marketing cookies. We use the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel and email marketing tools to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, build audiences for marketing campaigns, and show you relevant ads on other websites and platforms.

3. Third-party cookies

Some cookies on our site are set by third parties who provide services to us:

  • Google Analytics – website analytics
  • Meta / Facebook Pixel – advertising and analytics
  • Stripe, PayPal, and WooCommerce Payments – secure payment processing during checkout

These third parties may set their own cookies and process data under their own privacy policies. We do not control these cookies directly.

4. Legal basis and consent

Where required by law (including for EU/EEA and UK visitors), we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies (functional, analytics, and advertising cookies) via a cookie banner or similar consent mechanism. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent, as they are essential to providing the service you requested. You can withdraw consent at any time as described in Section 5 below.

5. Your choices and how to control cookies

You can control and manage cookies in a number of ways:

  • Cookie banner: if presented, use the consent tool on our site to accept or reject non-essential cookie categories.
  • Browser settings: most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies via their settings menu. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site (such as the cart or checkout) from working correctly.
  • Google Analytics opt-out: you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Ad preferences: you can manage Meta ad preferences via your Facebook Ad Preferences settings.

6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers support “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals or the Global Privacy Control (GPC). Where legally required, we honor recognized opt-out signals such as GPC as a valid request to opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information under applicable U.S. state law.

7. U.S. state privacy rights

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (which can include data shared via advertising cookies/pixels for cross-context behavioral advertising) and to know what categories of information are collected via cookies. See our Privacy Policy for details on how to exercise these rights.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies and technologies we use, or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
